I have arrived!!

Wow, this is very unreal, to be sitting in my wee flat, writing from Dublin. A movie nite happening rite below me.

The mission is very much inner city. Wee kids as young as 5 running around with mohawks and peircings, in their favourite rugby or soccer teams track suits, shouting obscenities. Its located in a very rough, yet somehow still so beautiful, part of town, and definetly does have a reputation that all are welcome.. and all come.. all hours of the day and nite, pounding on the door to come in then running about shouting in the gym rite below my room. There is so much life happening all around me, never a dull moment,.. already!

Travelling went absolutely amazing.. Couldnt have been better! Bags arrived, no trouble flying, and everything worked out so beautifully. You could definetly pray I get approved for a visa, shouldnt be a problem, but have to get it in the month and have a very busy schedule. Pray I continue to stay in good health, and have loads of energy to keep up with these kids, 24/7.

Its beautiful. Its needy beyond imagination.. I was out with a lady from the office today, who is here from South Africa, she was showin me around, and I am just so amazed that I am here. Little old Irish men tanning leather, and cutting fish.. its just amazing!

So, it has begun. The adventure of a lifetime, once again. Pray for God to do His thing, I am just here watchin Him work, and lovin people. I leave Saturday for a week of camp, pray for energy and health and quick relationships..

Its funny just thinking about it already though, but the Irishs sense of humour is soo sarcastic and blunt.. The kids will insult ya, and then run away sayin, ah, jes jokin ya mister.. They are real, in your face and hilarious. I think the word feck and shite and normal vocabulary for anyone over the age of 3, and I hear them every other word. Oh good times.

So, I've already taken loads of pictures and will post them when I can.. Got to rest!
Cheers for now.

Prayer Requests

"He'll be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry, when He hears it, He will answer you." Isaiah 30:19

We serve a God who is so good and loves His children, in fact, I think one of my favourite scriptures is this; "As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you." Isaiah 62:5

God delights in us, and desires for us to find our joy, our pleasure, and our delight in Him. My prayer for each of you as you read this and for myself, is that God would help us do just that, delight in none but Him. Many thoughts are running thru my mind as I prepare to go, and as I got thinking, I decided it would be good to ask you all to be praying for a couple of things.

*For travel mercies. Last time I flew, I had excruciating pain in my face, from the pressure and nerve damage that occured after my nose surgery, the doctors have given me a couple prescriptions to try and alleviate the pain, pray that God would give me a pain free flight, cuz it was bad!

*For me to make my connecting flights, and all baggage arrives in Dublin, with no complications, when I do.

*For my health, as I will be arriving and immediatly be camping for 4 weeks straight. Adjusting to a new, cold, damp climate, and that God would keep my healthy among all the physical changes.

*For the camps. That God would help me build relationships with the families and students and staff, right off the bat, and for Him to work in the hearts of all that attend.

*For there to be no hassles when applying for the visa in the country.

*And that God would take care of all the big and small details that are already in His hands.

Thanks guys.. More to come, that stuff has just been on my heart. I know God loves it when we cry out to Him and pour out our hearts, and I can't do it without all your prayers. LOVE YOU ALL!! and thank you.

"It is not the healthy that need a doctor, but the sick.." Jesus

Hey, so most of you were asking alot of questions as far as what I am doing, and where I will be going this time around. I am blessed and so excited to have been accepted to an organisation in Dublin, Ireland called, Dublin Christian Mission! They are a group, much like the Union Gospel Mission, and work with those whose lives have been affected by aids, homelessness and drug and alcohol addiction. I will be focusing in a part of town, where there are a ton of inner city teens who have to deal with crime/gang related violence, stemming from addictions and poor living conditions. I am so blessed, so excited and so honoured to be able to show the hope and love of Christ to a ppl who are so searching and so needing of love. To find out more about the organisation or what I'll be doing, check out their website (www.dcmlive.ie), and keep checkin' in with me on here to see how God works.
